Review: Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Magnificent Mile

I wan to start by saying Chicago is such a beautiful city. There’s so many things to do and places to explore. For my trip to Chicago I wanted to stay some where close to the activities that I had setup. This way I would not have to travel so far outside of the city. While doing a bit of research this brought me to the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Magnificent Mile. I arrived to the hotel on Thursday, February 6, 2020 on a late night flight and checked out on February 9, 2020. I reached my hotel around 1:00am using Lyft and upon arrival I was generously greeted by front desk attendants. Although, it was extremely late the attendants still had smiles on their faces and courtesy demeanor. I was then given the in’s and out’s of the hotel plus the cool extra perks that the hotel had to offer. I was told that there was complimentary breakfast served every morning in addition to an evening drink reception. 🍸 When I arrived I was also extremely hungry and the front desk attendant even gave me a list of restaurants that were still open during the late hours as well as the menus to their restaurants and a map of the hotel so I would know where everything was.

After receiving this information I made my way to my hotel room, order some food from the downstairs restaurant that closed at 3:00am and the I crashed for the night. The next morning I woke up around 7:00am to check out the hotels breakfast selection and I must say I was shocked by their servings. When staying at a hotel that offers complimentary breakfast they usually serve the basics. Bagels, toast, cereal, juice and fruit. Not Embassy suites, they serve hot and filling breakfast with items such as hash brown, bacon, sausage, made to order omelets and biscuits with gravy. I felt like I was at a breakfast restaurant and I didn’t even have to leave my hotel to get it. They also offered basic breakfast selections like yogurt, cereal, bagels, tea, coffee, orange juice, cranberry juice, fruits and so much more refreshing breakfast dishes to fill your stomach and start your day of exploring.

Once I finished eating breakfast downstairs in the hotel dining area, I really had the chance to see the beauty of my hotel room. Compared to not getting the full view the night before due to such a late flight, I must say I appreciate the early morning view way better. I had a double bedroom suite with a lake view and to enter your room you must scan your key card. When the green light appears that is when you can open your room door. When I first entered the room to my left was the living room area with a let out couch that turns into a bed. To my right was a huge flat screen television with a multitude of channels to choose from and television stand. Then, straight ahead was an office workspace area with a late night work light, a desk, an embassy suites note pad and an office chair.

When you walk pass the front entrance section you walk into a mini hallway space. To my left was a refrigerator, microwave, a sink and did I mention that there was a Keurig in the room? Of course I had to take advantage of that by making me some hot chocolate. To my right there was the bathroom with a huge vanity mirror and a nice size bath tub/shower. The hotel service was so amazing that they even left me snacks every day in my room. They left snack items such as water, soda, juice, chips, peanuts and candy.

Now lets get to the bedroom area. The entire place was so spotless that I didn’t even want to unpack my luggage because I did not want to mess anything up. Although, the housekeeping does come by to tidy up the place everyday. I still wanted to keep things a bit tidy myself. When you walk into your actual bedroom the first thing that hits you is the breathtaking lake view. The room window was so wide and waking up to the brightness of the morning sun everyday was absolutely amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better morning view. The room is equipped with two queen beds, a large television an armoire and another sink with a vanity mirror. It was so easy to do my makeup in those mirrors with their awesome lighting.

Later on after I got back in from exploring the city, I had to check out the hotels evening reception. I mean free wine, alcohol or beer and snacks who can resist that? The hotel gives you these complimentary breakfast cards and on the back of them is where the bartenders check off your free drink for the day. I ordered what the bartender recommend, which was tequila with pineapple juice and strawberry syrup topped with a cherry. The drink was such a delight, but be sure to get there early especially to find seating.

All in all, I had a phenomenal stay at the Embassy Suites there were absolutely no disappointments. I will definitely be back during my next trip to Chicago. Even if I stay in another city that has Embassy Suites, I’m there 100%. From the customer service that I received from the staff to the food and complimentary offerings, I couldn’t have asked for a better stay at a hotel. It was close to every attraction I went to plus they treated me like royalty from the time I arrived to the time I checked out of my room. They even sent a text to my cell phone everyday to make sure things were going great with my stay and to assure I’d received proper housekeeping service. I have tons of great things to say when it came to staying at the Embassy Suites hotel. They practically treated me like family at their establishment.

This blog post is in partnership with Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Magnificent Mile. I was given a complimentary stay during my time here, but all opinions are honest and my own.
