Paris, The City of Magic | Travel Guide

Oh Paris! Where do I begin? Paris has always been one of my dream destinations to travel to. I’ve always seen it in movies, but to experience it in person is something magical. I was there for about two full days. I flew in after spending two days in Rome, which made the flight so much more affordable. So, what me and my traveling crew did was rent a car. This way we could have a better chance at exploring the city as much as we could during such a short time. We decided to rent a car from Enterprise on the day of our arrival that was pretty inexpensive. Our hotel was located close to the airport and it would have been a hassle as well as tons of money to take a taxi or use a ride sharing service to get around.

WHERE TO STAY

During my time in Paris I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Paris Charles de Gaulle hotel. As I previously stated it was close to the airport, but the hotel was gorgeous. When you walk in there’s a beautiful large open space lobby area where guests can dine or use as a workspace. I didn’t get to experience all of the amenities on the property, but I know that the facility has a pool along with a fitness center. I was even told that they have a meeting room where guests can play pool, foosball and arcade games. Another awesome perk located inside of the hotel was the restaurant. We didn’t have to travel outside of our hotel to find because the food inside of the hotel restaurant was so amazing. I ate there both days in Paris and they have servings such as fish, hamburgers and lasagna to name a few. If you plan to stay here I’d advise you to rent a car like me and my travel crew did. This hotel was not close to the tourist attractions. Renting a car just made things so much easier while exploring Paris.

WHERE TO GO

When you’re in Paris the first thing you want to do is go shopping. One of Paris’ popular malls is the Les Galeries LaFayette. It’s filled with designer stores galore so if you’re into the luxury shopping experience this is the place to be. During my shopping chronicles I even grabbed a quick sweet treat from their mall that was so tasty. I can’t remember the name of the ice cream shop or the name of the ice cream I was eating, but it was well worth experimenting.

Now, you can’t go to Paris without going to it’s most known tourist attraction, the Eiffel Tower. This is where I went my second night in town. I felt so many magical sentiments while I was there. It’s the perfect place to take pictures and they even have a lawn where tourist can sit, play music and enjoy a nice drink while the tower lights up at night. Entry into the Eiffel Tower is free, but you do have to pay to go up the tower. You can either take the stairs or the elevator. I took the elevator because those stairs looked like a dangerous mission to complete. Going up the tower and getting off the elevator, which was jammed packed, there’s a gift shop to buy souvenirs and the best view of the city. They also have a restaurant in the tower, but be sure to make reservations because they’re always booked. The tower also lights up every hour and i actually stayed until the last light show, which was 1:00am.

WHERE TO DINE

If you love fine dining Ciel de Paris provides just that. After a long day of exploring the mall me and my traveling crew had dinner at Ciel de Paris. It is located on the 56th floor and overlooks Paris as well as gives you a gorgeous view of the Eiffel tower. They serve a variety of upscale dishes and fine wines. We set a reservation for around 7pm just to get a night view of the city. They started us off with lite appetizers such as bread and breadsticks. Then, we went on to ordering our entrees. The waiter also gave us recommendations for the perfect wines to pair with our dishes. Most upscale restaurants usually create the perfect ambiance, but their food usually isn’t that great. This place was the complete opposite, both their food and ambiance was perfect.
